RAJIV GANDHI was born on August 20 to Indira Gandhi and Feroze Gandhi in the year 1944. He married to Antonia Maino who is now called Sonia Gandhi. They gave birth to Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi.
Sanjay Gandhi is his younger brother born on 14, December 1946. He was also a politician died in a plane crash when he was 33 year old.Rajiv Gandhi went to study his engineering at Trinity College but, left it incomplete and came back. He was interested in pilot and joined Air India. He never shown any urge towards politics. After the demise of his brother Sanjay Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi joined politics on 16, February 1981 and succeeded Amethi seat and was a Lok Sabha member.He became the prime minister of India after the assassination of Indira Gandhi on 31, October 1984. He was 7th prime minister of India.He was awarded with Bharat Ratna high prestigious award in India. On his campaign he was assassinated with suicide bomber in Tamil Nadu on 21, May 1991.
